Early goals doom Tulsa Jr. Oilers, falls to El Paso Rhinos, 16-0

El Paso Rhinos jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Tulsa Jr. Oilers, 16-0.

Marek Langhammer had two goals and three assists to lead El Paso Rhinos. Langhammer scored the first of his two goals at 2:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 El Paso Rhinos. Vojtech Zemlicka picked up the assist. Langhammer's next tally made the score 12-0 El Paso Rhinos with 12:28 left in the third period. David Brancik assisted on the tally.

Tulsa Jr. Oilers fell victim to a deadly El Paso Rhinos power play, which ripped Tulsa Jr. Oilers for five goals.

El Paso Rhinos forced Tulsa Jr. Oilers' goaltenders to work without much rest, totaling 52 shots and forcing 36 saves. Colter Pritchard made 16 stops and Tyler Jansen made 20. El Paso Rhinos put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tulsa Jr. Oilers to score on any of its eight power plays. El Paso Rhinos found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, El Paso Rhinos averages 6.2 goals per contest. The defensemen of El Paso Rhinos were also effective in Tulsa Jr. Oilers' zone, and came away with two goals.

El Paso Rhinos also got points from Brancik, who also had two goals and three assists, Karson Frisk, who also registered two goals and one assist, Jonah Pearson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Kendal Craig, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Gavin Abbott, who also finished with two goals and one assist, and Zemlicka, who also registered two goals and two assists. El Paso Rhinos also got a goal from Lukas Znosko as well. Other players who recorded assists for El Paso Rhinos were Angel Sanca, who had two, Robert Horak, Patrick Stancl, and David Barbour, who each chipped in one, and Clinton Hildebrand and Martin Hanl, who contributed three each.

Tulsa Jr. Oilers did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Tulsa Jr. Oilers puts an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game. Tulsa Jr. Oilers did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 11 shots on net to force 11 saves.
