Huge game by Sevcenko boosts Idaho Junior Steelheads over Butte Cobras, 13-2

Idaho Junior Steelheads' Arturs Sevcenko had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing five assists in his team's 13-2 win over Butte Cobras.

Sevcenko found the back of the net 4:19 into the third period to make the score 10-2 Idaho Junior Steelheads and again while 11:16 into the third to make the score 12-2 Idaho Junior Steelheads.

Idaho Junior Steelheads forced Butte Cobras' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 52 shots and forcing 39 saves. Philip Babb made nine stops and Justin Irby made 30. Idaho Junior Steelheads surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Idaho Junior Steelheads averages 6.7 goals per game.

Idaho Junior Steelheads also got points from Kris Apsitis, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Nikita Zgirskis, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Victor Carlsson, who also registered two goals and four assists, Robert Neuwirth, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Hunter Lester, who also had one goal and one assist, and Kyle Williams, who also racked up two goals and two assists. Idaho Junior Steelheads also got a goal from Macky Power as well. More assists for Idaho Junior Steelheads came via Jack York, who had two and Parker Lewis, Yegor Ivanov, Ondrej Valo, Ryan Cutter, and Kyle TenEyck, who each chipped in one.

Butte Cobras' offense was handcuffed by Idaho Junior Steelheads' defensive play, and Butte Cobras managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. Butte Cobras' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Butte Cobras was led by Dzmitry Daniliuk, who registered two goals. Daniliuk scored the first of his two goals at 9:05 into the first period to make the score 4-1 Idaho Junior Steelheads. Nick Wrobel picked up the assist. Daniliuk's next tally made the score 5-2 Idaho Junior Steelheads with six seconds left in the first period. Butte Cobras earned a power play opportunity when Lester was put in the box for interference. Bogdan Shleev assisted on the tally.

Ben Perone recorded 12 saves for Idaho Junior Steelheads. Idaho Junior Steelheads incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Butte Cobras incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
