Oklahoma City Blazers wins tough contest against Springfield Express, 5-4

The game between Oklahoma City Blazers and Springfield Express was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Oklahoma City Blazers emerged with a 5-4 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Sam Mancini's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Oklahoma City Blazers was led by Mancini, who had one goal and one assist. Mancini scored short handed 14:12 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Oklahoma City Blazers. Oklahoma City Blazers found itself down a man on Matt Levene's slashing. Petr Kobes assisted on the tally.

Oklahoma City Blazers stifled Springfield Express' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Oklahoma City Blazers forced Springfield Express goalie Bobby Dugan to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Oklahoma City Blazers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for three opposing power plays.

Oklahoma City Blazers also got points from Kole Hudson, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Lubos Vacek, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Oklahoma City Blazers included Hunter Smith and Victor Ekk, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Oklahoma City Blazers were Dylan Lamontagne and Matthew Audette, who each chipped in one.

Oklahoma City Blazers was unable to stop Springfield Express from sending pucks towards the net, and Springfield Express eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Springfield Express was helped by Seth Ensor, who racked up one goal. Ensor scored 8:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Springfield Express. Ted Astrom picked up the assist. Springfield Express additionally got points from Astrom, who also had one goal and one assist. Springfield Express also had goals scored by David Higgs and Josh Cook, who each put in one. In addition, Springfield Express received assists from Linus Dahlberg, who had two and Vito DeVito and Derek Smith, who contributed one each.

Oklahoma City Blazers' Jakub Krejci stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Oklahoma City Blazers registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For Oklahoma City Blazers, Kirill Romanov was ejected from the game. Bobby Dugan made 32 saves for Springfield Express on 37 shots. Springfield Express incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
