Miami University survives Grand Valley State University comeback, wins 4-2Griff's Georgetown Fri, Jan 23, 2015 The Miami University RedHawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Grand Valley State University Lakers on the way to a 4-2 win. A goal by Katie Augustine put Miami University up 4-1 in the second period, but Grand Valley State University pulled to within two on Corey Robison's tally 12:22 into the third period. Rachael Booth had a great game for the RedHawks, netting two goals. Booth scored at 9:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Miami University and again while 12:13 into the first to make the score 2-1 Miami University. Miami University could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The RedHawks put an average of 6.2 pucks into the net per game. Miami University's offense rang up 42 shots on the Lakers' net. Miami University additionally got points from Carly Noble, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Miami University came via Hayley Williams, who had two, Jessica Gould, who had three, and Cassidy Guthrie and Kaley Mooney, who contributed one each. Grand Valley State University's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Lakers give up 1.6 goal per game.
