Anderson nets hat trick, leads Ontario Avalanche to 4-3 win over Las Vegas StormCenter Ice Arena Sun, Jan 18, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Las Vegas Storm could not stop Ontario Avalanche's Nick Anderson, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-3 win. Anderson notched his first tally 1:02 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:39 into the first and at 19:07 into the third.Ontario Avalanche forced Las Vegas Storm's goalies to work in net, finishing with 44 shots and forcing 40 saves. Patrik Jokela made 28 stops and Brian Coppola made 12. Marc Janisch also scored for Ontario Avalanche. Other players who recorded assists for Ontario Avalanche were Henning Danielson and Filip Masek, who contributed one each and Thurel Kast and Michael Thomas, who each chipped in two. Las Vegas Storm's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Ontario Avalanche power plays. Las Vegas Storm was led by Jiri Ryyppo, who had one goal and one assist. Ryyppo scored on the power play 11:13 into the second period to make the score 3-3. A boarding penalty on Antoine Maillard had put Las Vegas Storm on the power play. Nikita Tsvetov picked up the assist. Others who scored for Las Vegas Storm included Kyle Pacheco and Arrigo Burgener, who scored one goal each. In addition, Las Vegas Storm received assists from Alkhas Kochkarev and Vincent Dekumbis, who contributed one each. Daniel Cepila rejected 20 shots on goal for Ontario Avalanche. Ontario Avalanche ended with 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors. Las Vegas Storm totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
