Mencer nets hat trick, leads Ogden Mustangs to 4-2 win over Salt Lake City Moose

Jon Mencer netted a hat trick to lead Ogden Mustangs over Salt Lake City Moose, 4-2.

Mencer's first goal came 7:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:46 into the second and at 16:05 into the second.

Ogden Mustangs also got a goal from Martin Hallin as well. In addition, Ogden Mustangs received assists from Andreas Zollner, who had two, Corey Iapalucci, who had three, and Clay Cross, David Clements, and Craig Moore, who contributed one each.

Salt Lake City Moose was helped by Dan Veselovsky, who finished with one goal. Veselovsky scored on the power play 13:02 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Ogden Mustangs. A tripping penalty on Zollner had put Salt Lake City Moose on the power play. Dmitry Kuznetsov provided the assist. Ross Gann also scored for Salt Lake City Moose. Other players who recorded assists for Salt Lake City Moose were Brett Myer, Patrick OBryan, and Erik Ahlen, who each chipped in one.

Andreas Pettersson recorded 23 saves for Ogden Mustangs. Ogden Mustangs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Salt Lake City Moose's Ryan Gasparovic stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Salt Lake City Moose incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
