Myer nets hat trick, leads Salt Lake City Moose to 7-2 win over Cheyenne Stampede

Brett Myer netted a hat trick to lead Salt Lake City Moose over Cheyenne Stampede, 7-2.

Myer notched his first tally 12:22 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:57 into the second and at 15:25 into the third.

Salt Lake City Moose forced Cheyenne Stampede's netminders to work between the pipes, totaling 34 shots and forcing 27 saves. Egor Riabchikov made 17 stops and Corey Foster made 10. Salt Lake City Moose put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cheyenne Stampede to score on any of its four power plays. Salt Lake City Moose bested its season scoring average. Salt Lake City Moose has scored at the pace of 4.1 goals per game during the current campaign.

Salt Lake City Moose additionally got points from Erik Ahlen, who also had two goals and one assist and Filip Hedvall, who also tallied one goal and one assist. John Dixon also scored for Salt Lake City Moose. In addition, Salt Lake City Moose received assists from Brett Howard, who had two and Matthew Morse, Patrick OBryan, Dan Veselovsky, and Devan Beck, who each chipped in one.

Cheyenne Stampede was helped by Michael Ballard, who grabbed one goal. Ballard scored 8:32 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Salt Lake City Moose. Nolan Kinney provided the assist. Cheyenne Stampede also got a goal from Robert Crawford as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cheyenne Stampede were Garrett Hughes, who had one and Max Legere, who had two.

Brad Robertson rejected 22 shots on goal for Salt Lake City Moose. Salt Lake City Moose totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Cheyenne Stampede ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
