The Davenport University Panthers took the lead against the Adrian College Bulldog in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

Courtney Curlee provided Davenport University with the game-winning tally when he scored 6:21 into the first period.

Victoria Smishek spearheaded the defensive effort for the Panthers, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 36 saves for the shutout. Smishek certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.1 entering the contest.

Davenport University's penalty kill excelled, as the Panthers gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays.

Davenport University's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The Panthers surpassed its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Davenport University stifled Adrian College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Panthers were held below their usual level of production. Davenport University puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

The Bulldog excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Adrian College could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Bulldog average 2.2 goals per game. Adrian College's offense rang up 36 shots on the Panthers' net.

Emily Michelin made 17 saves for the Bulldog on 18 shots. Adrian College ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
