Cusmano's big game bests Davenport University in 6-2 Michigan University of win

The Michigan University of Wolverines' Jennifer Cusmano had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Davenport University Panthers.

Cusmano got on the scoresheet 1:56 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:49 into the first, at 13:25 into the second, and at 8:30 into the third.

Michigan University of also got points from Kalli Bates, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Erin Gregoire also scored for Michigan University of. In addition, Michigan University of received assists from Karoline Inman, who had two and Jane Dow, Kali Hengsteler, and Rachel Hysong, who each chipped in one.

Davenport University's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Panthers average 2.1 goals allowed per game. Davenport University got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Panthers were led by Tara Boliard, who tallied one goal. Boliard scored 4:06 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Courtney Curlee assisted on the tally. Davenport University also got a goal from Samantha Rogers as well. More assists for Davenport University came via Chantal Caraher and Laken Kunz, who contributed one each.

Kelsey Duggan made 16 saves for Michigan University of on 18 shots. The Wolverines incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Davenport University's Victoria Smishek stopped 20 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Panthers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
