The Miami University RedHawks' Hayley Williams had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-4 win over the Rhode Island University of Rams.

Williams scored at 7:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Miami University and again while 17:18 into the third to make the score 6-4 Miami University.

Miami University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rhode Island University of to score on any of its three power plays. The RedHawks forced the Rams goalie Sarah Ross to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Miami University's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Rhode Island University of was helped by Kristy Kennedy, who racked up one goal. Kennedy scored 7:53 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Miami University. Rhode Island University of additionally got points from Monica Darby, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points.
