Miami University downs Liberty University, 2-1

Kaley Mooney tallied one point to lead the Miami University RedHawks to a 2-1 victory over the Liberty University Flames.

Miami University did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The RedHawks put an average of 6.0 pucks into the net per game. Miami University forced Liberty University goalie Kristina Toppazzini to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Hayley Williams also scored for Miami University. In addition, Miami University received assists from Rachael Booth, who had two and Morgan Mcgrath and Eliza Abraham, who each chipped in one.

The Flames were held below their usual level of production. Liberty University averages 6.0 goals per game.

The Flames were led by Jenny Macarthur, who scored the team's only goal. Macarthur scored on the power play 12:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A body checking penalty on Williams had put Liberty University on the power play. Catharine Burrell picked up the assist.

Emalee Wills made 15 saves for the RedHawks on 16 shots. Miami University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Toppazzini rejected 43 shots on goal for the Flames. Liberty University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
