Haynes nets hat trick, leads Fresno Monsters to 11-1 win over Phoenix Knights

Jacob Haynes lifted Fresno Monsters to an 11-1 victory with a hat trick against Phoenix Knights.

Haynes' first goal came 10:03 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:33 into the second and at 18:41 into the third.

Fresno Monsters stifled Phoenix Knights' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fresno Monsters forced Phoenix Knights goalie Colton Pankiw to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots. Fresno Monsters outdid its season average for goals scored. Fresno Monsters averages 7.3 goals per game.

Fresno Monsters also got points from Brantt Heble, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mike Nolan, who also had four goals and three assists to lead the team in points, Evan Ingram, who also grabbed two goals and three assists, and Patrick Meier, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Fresno Monsters came via Parker Olson and Mitchell Dolman, who contributed one each and Dan Fitzgerald and Mark Shroyer, who each chipped in two.

Phoenix Knights could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Phoenix Knights averages 3.6 goals per game.

Phoenix Knights was led by Robert Crisci, who scored the team's only goal. Crisci scored 31 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Phoenix Knights. Andrew Harrison picked up the assist.

Matthew Soldano made 22 saves for Fresno Monsters on 23 shots. Fresno Monsters totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Pankiw rejected 48 shots on goal for Phoenix Knights. Phoenix Knights totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
