San Diego outlasts Ontario Avalanche, 3-2

San Diego and Ontario Avalanche were evenly matched throughout their contest, but San Diego made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

San Diego gained the winning advantage on a goal by Nurbek Baltayev 2:56 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

San Diego was sparked by Baltayev, who registered one goal.

San Diego also had goals scored by Artemiy Yaroslavskiy and Pavel Bocharov, who scored one goal each. In addition, San Diego received assists from Will Parker, Bobby Campbell, Cameron Todd, Ilya Sakhibgareev, and Tyler Kubara, who contributed one each.

Ontario Avalanche stifled San Diego's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. San Diego was unable to stop Ontario Avalanche from sending pucks towards the net, and Ontario Avalanche eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Ontario Avalanche was helped by Zechariah Roberts, who tallied one goal and one assist. Roberts scored on the power play 12:37 into the second period to make the score 2-1 San Diego. Ontario Avalanche had taken the advantage when San Diego's Ted Lauer got sent off for interference. Adam Plonski assisted on the tally. Ontario Avalanche also got points from Antoine Maillard, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Ontario Avalanche came via Marc Janisch, who had one.

Ilya Alyakin made 49 saves for San Diego on 51 shots. San Diego totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
