Ontario Avalanche falls to Las Vegas Storm in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Las Vegas North Fri, Nov 21, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Las Vegas Storm pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Ontario Avalanche on a clutch goal by Beau Ricketts. Las Vegas Storm overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Las Vegas Storm trailed 3-1 after a power play goal by Ontario Avalanche's Nick Anderson at 14:51 in the second period. Las Vegas Storm tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Kyle Pacheco at 14:04 in the third period. Ricketts had a great game for Las Vegas Storm, netting two goals. Ricketts scored on the power play at 9:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ontario Avalanche and again while 2:25 into the fourth to make the score 4-3 Las Vegas Storm. Las Vegas Storm forced Ontario Avalanche goalie Chris Skeates to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Las Vegas Storm also got a goal from Felix Brunner as well. Other players who recorded assists for Las Vegas Storm were Moritz Matzka, who had two and Arrigo Burgener, Trevin Morgan, and Vincent Dekumbis, who each chipped in one. Ontario Avalanche kept Las Vegas Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrik Jokela made 35 saves on 38 shots. Ontario Avalanche found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. Zechariah Roberts also scored for Ontario Avalanche. More assists for Ontario Avalanche came via Jackson Giammona, who had two and Martin Carlsson, Michael Thomas, and Antoine Maillard, who contributed one each. Las Vegas Storm incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Ontario Avalanche's Skeates stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Ontario Avalanche registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
