Ogden Mustangs rips Colorado Evolution, 6-1

Ogden Mustangs had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Colorado Evolution.

Ogden Mustangs got the win behind a great game by Corey Iapalucci, who had one goal and two assists. Iapalucci scored 3:13 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ogden Mustangs. David Clements provided the assist.

Ogden Mustangs' offense rang up 48 shots on Colorado Evolution's net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Ogden Mustangs also got points from Clements, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Andreas Zollner, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ogden Mustangs also had goals scored by George Babos, Alex Forbes, and Caleb Pola, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ogden Mustangs received assists from Schuyler Seyfert, who had two and Spencer Norcott, Taylor Folk, Jon Mencer, and Ilya Bobko, who each chipped in one.

Colorado Evolution forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game Colorado Evolution had been spending in the box.

Weston Maughn made 11 saves before being replaced by Troy Turpin, who took the win and made five saves. Ogden Mustangs totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Sergii Pysarenko recorded 42 saves for Colorado Evolution. Colorado Evolution registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
