Fromberger's big game bests Lake Tahoe Blue in 6-1 Idaho Junior Steelheads win

Phil Fromberger had two goals and one assist to lead Idaho Junior Steelheads to a 6-1 victory over Lake Tahoe Blue.

Fromberger found the back of the net on the power play 8:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 10:55 into the first to make the score 2-1 Idaho Junior Steelheads.

Idaho Junior Steelheads stifled Lake Tahoe Blue's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Idaho Junior Steelheads' offense rang up 59 shots on Lake Tahoe Blue's net. Idaho Junior Steelheads' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Idaho Junior Steelheads also got points from Oleg Losev, who also registered one goal and one assist and Victor Carlsson, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Kyle Smith also scored for Idaho Junior Steelheads. In addition, Idaho Junior Steelheads received assists from Ondrej Valo, who had two and Jack York, Kris Apsitis, Nikita Zgirskis, Kyle Kruenegel, and Alex Randazzo, who contributed one each.

Lake Tahoe Blue was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled 10 minors and one major for 25 minutes in penalty time.

Lake Tahoe Blue was led by Alexander Lobachev, who scored the team's only goal. Lobachev scored 6:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lake Tahoe Blue.

Tyler Hough recorded 16 saves for Idaho Junior Steelheads. Idaho Junior Steelheads totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-9 on the power play. Lake Tahoe Blue's Nick Bretzger stopped 53 shots out of the 59 that he faced. Lake Tahoe Blue registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
