Ogden Mustangs holds on for 5-3 win against Colorado Eagles

Ogden Mustangs survived a determined comeback attempt by Colorado Eagles on the way to a 5-3 win.

A goal by Corey Iapalucci put Ogden Mustangs up 5-2 in the third period, but Colorado Eagles pulled to within two on Jackson Wallis's tally 14:10 into the third period.

With three goals and one assist between them, Schuyler Seyfert and Ilya Bobko teamed up to power Ogden Mustangs' offense. Seyfert had two goals and one assist and Bobko also added one goal.

Colorado Eagles was unable to stop Ogden Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Ogden Mustangs eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Ogden Mustangs also got points from Iapalucci, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Ogden Mustangs also got a goal from Jon Mencer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ogden Mustangs were David Clements, who had two and Craig Moore, Alex Forbes, and Taylor Folk, who contributed one each.

Colorado Eagles forced Ogden Mustangs goalie Troy Turpin to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Colorado Eagles was led by Levi Weber, who grabbed two goals. Weber scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Colorado Eagles earned a power play opportunity when Forbes was put in the box for checking from behind. Nick Davidson picked up the assist. Weber's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Colorado Eagles with 9:13 left in the second period. Cade Warner assisted on the tally. In addition, Colorado Eagles received assists from Ty Hubbard and Trenton Hines, who each chipped in one.

Turpin rejected 42 shots on goal for Ogden Mustangs. Ogden Mustangs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Colorado Eagles' Tage Rustgi stopped 34 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Colorado Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
