Springfield Express beats Tulsa Jr. Oilers 4-3 after comeback scare

Tulsa Jr. Oilers tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Springfield Express would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Seth Ensor put Springfield Express up 3-0 in the second period, but Tulsa Jr. Oilers pulled to within one on Egor Yaragin's tally 5:15 into the third period.

Vito DeVito was all over the ice for Springfield Express, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. DeVito scored the first of his two goals at 7:46 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Springfield Express. Quade Hamlin picked up the assist. DeVito's next tally made the score 4-2 Springfield Express with 7:48 left in the third period. A high sticking penalty on Keiran Spettie had put Springfield Express on the power play. Hamlin provided the assist.

Springfield Express' offense rang up 33 shots on Tulsa Jr. Oilers' net.

Springfield Express also got points from Ensor, who also finished with two goals and one assist. More assists for Springfield Express came via Eric Anderson, who had one.

Springfield Express was unable to stop Tulsa Jr. Oilers from sending pucks towards the net, and Tulsa Jr. Oilers eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Tulsa Jr. Oilers was helped by Sam Hiserodt, who racked up one goal. Hiserodt scored on the power play 14:33 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Springfield Express. Tulsa Jr. Oilers had gotten the advantage when Springfield Express' Phillip Solari was sent off for tripping. Andrew Wyrrick picked up the assist. Tulsa Jr. Oilers additionally got points from Richard Novodomec, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Tulsa Jr. Oilers received assists from Aaron Bessey and Maksim Chegrintcev, who contributed one each.

Philip Babb rejected 30 shots on goal for Springfield Express. Springfield Express totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. For Springfield Express, Ensor was ejected from the game. Michal Marcinek recorded 29 saves for Tulsa Jr. Oilers. Tulsa Jr. Oilers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
