Huge game by Johansson boosts Long Beach Bombers over Phoenix Knights, 7-2

Behind a great game by Patrik Johansson, who had one goal and two assists, Long Beach Bombers defeated Phoenix Knights, 7-2.

Johansson got on the board by slotting home a goal 13:27 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Michael Sjolin assisted on the tally. Johansson dished an assist on Tomas Nemeth's goal that made the score 4-2 Long Beach Bombers at 29 seconds into the third period. He added another helper on Johan Beatty's goal that made the score 7-2 Long Beach Bombers at 17:40 into the third period.

Long Beach Bombers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Phoenix Knights to score on any of its four power plays. Phoenix Knights was unable to stop Long Beach Bombers from sending pucks towards the net, and Long Beach Bombers eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Long Beach Bombers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Long Beach Bombers has scored at the pace of 4.9 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Long Beach Bombers were also effective in Phoenix Knights' zone, and came away with two goals.

Long Beach Bombers additionally got points from Nemeth, who also registered two goals and one assist and Beatty, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Long Beach Bombers also had goals scored by Nick Short, Chris Sudnicki, and Carl Lyden, who each put in one. More assists for Long Beach Bombers came via Bailey Ketola and Casper Faltskog, who contributed one each and Lukas Lindquist and Anton Rhose, who each chipped in two.

Phoenix Knights' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Long Beach Bombers power plays. Phoenix Knights' offense rang up 34 shots on Long Beach Bombers' net.

Phoenix Knights was helped by Mitch Cobby, who had one goal. Cobby scored 7:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Phoenix Knights. Jordan Cullum provided the assist.
