Casper Coyotes outlasts Ogden Mustangs, 4-3The Ice Sheet Sun, Oct 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Casper Coyotes Coyote and Ogden Mustangs was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Casper Coyotes emerged with a 4-3 win. The Coyote gained the winning advantage on a goal by Kasper Elo 19:27 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Uvis Skrebels was all over the ice for Casper Coyotes, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Skrebels scored at 7:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 16:12 into the first to make the score 2-2. Ogden Mustangs' power play was ineffective against the Coyote's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Casper Coyotes racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The Coyote surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. Casper Coyotes forced Ogden Mustangs' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 40 shots and forcing 36 saves. Andreas Pettersson made 23 stops and Troy Turpin made 13. The Coyote stifled Ogden Mustangs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Casper Coyotes additionally got points from Viktor Thim, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Elo, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Casper Coyotes received assists from Troy Saunders and Wyatt Stotts, who each chipped in one. Ogden Mustangs forced Coyote's goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 34 shots and forcing 31 saves. Rikard Landfeldt made 24 stops and Christoph Mutschin made seven. Ogden Mustangs was helped by Schuyler Seyfert, who had one goal. Seyfert scored 16:49 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Ogden Mustangs. Corey Iapalucci provided the assist. Ogden Mustangs also got points from Iapalucci, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Edvin Johansson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Ogden Mustangs came via Liam Charnock, who had one. Casper Coyotes registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Ogden Mustangs ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
