Colorado RoughRiders wins tough contest against Cheyenne Stampede, 5-3Cheyenne Ice and Events Sat, Oct 18, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Colorado RoughRiders gutted out a close 5-3 win against Cheyenne Stampede. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Walker Harris at 8:28 of the third period. Aidan Doughty had two goals to lead Colorado RoughRiders to victory. Doughty scored at 9:14 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Colorado RoughRiders and again while 11:15 into the third to make the score 5-3 Colorado RoughRiders. Penalties took their toll on Colorado RoughRiders, as its penalty kill unit let in two power play goals. Colorado RoughRiders also got points from Casey Riccatone, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Colorado RoughRiders also got a goal from Tanner West as well. More assists for Colorado RoughRiders came via Hunter Behrens, who had two and Christian Ramirez, Nick Kukuris, Tanner Doty, Blake Couture, Thayne Trumbull, and Kirill Pustovalov, who each chipped in one. Cheyenne Stampede was helped by Branko Oktavec, who tallied two goals. Oktavec scored the first of his two goals at 12:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cheyenne Stampede.
