Southern Oregon Spartans squeaks by Butte Cobras, 7-5

Southern Oregon Spartans and Butte Cobras were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Southern Oregon Spartans made the most of its opportunities and won, 7-5.

Southern Oregon Spartans gained the winning advantage on a goal by Luke Fraser 15:22 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Southern Oregon Spartans kept Butte Cobras' goalie busy throughout the game, and Reed Kinsey made 36 saves on 43 shots. Southern Oregon Spartans surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Southern Oregon Spartans averages 3.6 goals per contest. Southern Oregon Spartans' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Butte Cobras additionally got points from Anton Bokull, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Brock Solomon also scored for Butte Cobras. Other players who recorded assists for Butte Cobras were Anton Zimmer, who had three and Connor Rickabus and Noakes Gordon, who each chipped in one.

Tymen Edelkoort III made 24 saves for Southern Oregon Spartans on 29 shots. Southern Oregon Spartans registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Southern Oregon Spartans ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Denis Creighton was ejected from the game. Butte Cobras incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
