Mississippi RiverKings downs Fayetteville, 4-1

Sean Jones registered one point to lead Mississippi RiverKings to a 4-1 victory over the Fayetteville FireAntz.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled Fayetteville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississippi RiverKings put 34 shots on net during the contest, more than the 27.5 it averages per game.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Matt Harrington, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Mississippi RiverKings included Leo Thomas and Matt Whitehead, who each put in one. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Devin Mantha, who had two and Ryan Marcuz, Justin Gvora, Linden Bahm, Mike Hayward, and Andrew Randazzo, who contributed one each.

The FireAntz excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Fayetteville was led by Josh McQuade, who scored the team's only goal. McQuade scored 16:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings. Derek Elliott picked up the assist.

Mississippi RiverKings' Peter Di Salvo stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Mississippi RiverKings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Andrew Flemming recorded 30 saves for the FireAntz. Fayetteville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
