Campbellford boosted by Mahoney's play in net, beats Port Hope 4-1

Cole Mahoney stood on his head and made 39 saves to lead the Campbellford Rebels to a 4-1 victory over the Port Hope Panthers.

Campbellford was sparked by Jacob Bennett, who racked up one goal and one assist. Bennett scored 5:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Campbellford. Ethan McDougall picked up the assist.

Campbellford also got points from William Lameroux, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Colin Doyle, who also had one goal and one assist, and Jon Samis, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Campbellford came via Etinene Pelleteir, who had one.

Port Hope excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Panthers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Port Hope averages 5.2 goals per game. The Panthers forced the Rebels goalie Mahoney to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Port Hope was led by Chays Ruddy, who scored the team's only goal. Ruddy scored 9:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Hope. Connor Turland provided the assist.

Campbellford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Devan Tremblay recorded 22 saves for the Panthers. Port Hope incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
