Picton downs Deseronto, 8-3

Devin McCann tallied two points to lead the Picton Pirates to an 8-3 victory over the Deseronto Storm.

Picton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Deseronto power plays. The Pirates forced Deseronto goalie Aaron Young to work between the pipes, taking 69 shots. Picton found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Pirates have scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Picton additionally got points from Curtis Colbary, who also had one goal and one assist and Brian Bunnett, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Picton also got a goal from Nolan Van Vlack as well. In addition, Picton received assists from Miles Levtov, Austin Labelle, Calum Kennelly, Phil Smith, and Mitch Burke, who contributed one each and Nate Kellar and Mitchell Merry, who each chipped in two.

The Storm were helped by Daniel Ulrick, who registered one goal. Ulrick scored 17:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Devin MacLean provided the assist. Deseronto also got points from Jeff Hoey, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jordon Guindon also scored for Deseronto. More assists for Deseronto came via Brett Maracle, who had one and Brodie Maracle, who had two.

Matt Loveys rejected 16 shots on goal for Picton. The Pirates incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Aaron Young made 61 saves for Deseronto on 69 shots. The Storm incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
