Yake nets hat trick, leads Amherstview to 8-0 win over Deseronto

Brett Yake lifted the Amherstview Jets to an 8-0 victory with a hat trick against the Deseronto Storm.

Yake got on the scoresheet 8:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:27 into the second and at 3:23 into the third.

Graeme Gemmill-Peters spearheaded the defensive effort for Amherstview, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 28 saves for the shutout. Gemmill-Peters managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.72 prior to the game.

Deseronto was unable to stop the Jets from sending pucks towards the net, and Amherstview eventually piled up 75 shots on goal. The Jets outdid their season average for goals scored. Amherstview averages 3.8 goals per game.

Amherstview additionally got points from Wyatt Crampton, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jordan Howe, who also tallied two goals and two assists. Amherstview also had goals scored by Joey Mayer and Cam Blakeley, who each put in one. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Mike McKitrick, Zach Masterson, and Max Brunner, who each chipped in one and Cassidy Bruni, Ben Bianco, and Josh Kurish, who contributed two each.

The Jets incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Alex Crouter made 67 saves for the Storm on 75 shots. Deseronto incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
