Doyle, Lasko lead Campbellford over Amherstview, 7-3

Behind two goals from Colin Doyle and one goal Corey Lasko, the Campbellford Rebels downed the Amherstview Jets 7-3.

Doyle scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:21 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Campbellford. Campbellford had gained a power play chance when Mike McKitrick was whistled for high sticking. William Lameroux assisted on the tally. Doyle's next tally on the power play made the score 6-2 Campbellford with 11:29 left in the third period. Andrew Doxtator picked up the assist. Lasko scored 18:04 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Campbellford. Doxtator provided the assist.

The Rebels surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Campbellford averages 4.2 goals per game. The Rebels capitalized on Amherstview's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Campbellford also got points from Lameroux, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Jon Samis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Campbellford included Josh Leavey and Grant Fry, who scored one goal each. More assists for Campbellford came via Jacob Bennett, who had one.

The Jets' offense rang up 32 shots on Campbellford's net.

Amherstview was led by Jordan Howe, who tallied three goals. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstview were Brett Yake, who had two and Josh Kurish and Cosimo Morin, who contributed one each.

The Rebels' Cole Mahoney stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Campbellford ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Graeme Gemmill-Peters made 19 saves for the Jets on 26 shots. Amherstview incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
