Napanee downs Picton in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Strathcona Paper Sun, Dec 14, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Zach Knapp-Hermer gave the Napanee Raiders a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Picton Pirates when he scored 2:25 into the extra period. Napanee overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Raiders trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by Picton's Devin McCann at 15:12 in the first period. Napanee tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Taylor Brown at 14:57 in the third period. With three goals and two assists between them, Kyle Murphy and Austin Boulard teamed up to power the Raiders' offense. Murphy finished with two goals and Boulard also added one goal and two assists. The Pirates were unable to stop Napanee from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Napanee also got points from Keenan Murray, who also had one goal and one assist and Boulard, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Napanee came via Matthew Muller, Brodie Butt, and Brandon Nadeau, who each chipped in one. Picton additionally got points from Chris Jones, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Picton received assists from Austin Labelle, Brian Bunnett, Mitch Burke, Corey Prince, and Nolan Van Vlack, who contributed one each. Tomo Mikuljan rejected 26 shots on goal for Napanee. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nick Kazmierczak made 28 saves for Picton on 33 shots. The Pirates incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
