Chris Jones netted a hat trick to lead the Picton Pirates over the Campbellford Rebels, 5-2. Jones' first goal came 15:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:09 into the second and at 5:33 into the third.Picton forced Campbellford goalie Cole Mahoney to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Others who scored for Picton included Mitch Burke and Corey Prince, who each put in one. In addition, Picton received assists from Austin Labelle, Phil Smith, Taylor Brown, and Nolan Van Vlack, who contributed one each and Brian Bunnett and Curtis Smith, who each chipped in two. The Rebels excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Campbellford was led by Colin Doyle, who grabbed one goal. Doyle scored 18:19 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Campbellford also got a goal from Ethan McDougall as well. Brock Tufts made 24 saves for the Pirates on 26 shots. Picton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mahoney recorded 26 saves for the Rebels. Campbellford incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
