Napanee takes care of Deseronto early, wins 11-1

The Deseronto Storm fell behind early, and the Napanee Raiders kept piling on the points on the way to an 11-1 victory.

Deseronto was stymied by Napanee's netminder Tomo Mikuljan, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Mikuljan managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.46 prior to the game.

The Raiders were led by Josh Murphy, who had one goal and one assist. Murphy scored 8:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Napanee. Jordan Cannons picked up the assist.

Napanee forced the Storm's goalies to work in net, finishing with 58 shots and forcing 47 saves. Matt Loveys made nine stops and Alex Crouter made 38. The Raiders bested their season scoring average. Napanee has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The Raiders were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on nine chances.

Napanee also got points from Kyle Murphy, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brodie Butt, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Keenan Murray, who also registered three goals and one assist, Zack Revell, who also had three goals and one assist, and Will Peirson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Napanee also got a goal from Cullen Hinds as well. More assists for Napanee came via Josh St.Peter, Michael Parr, Riley Steeves, Austin Boulard, and Adam Bennett, who contributed one each and Gavin Stevenson APM and Zach Knapp-Hermer, who each chipped in three.

Deseronto was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 34 penalty minutes.

Napanee incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Storm registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
