Napanee erases deficit to stun Campbellford, 4-3Strathcona Paper Tue, Oct 28, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Napanee Raiders climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Campbellford Rebels, 4-3. Napanee let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Raiders took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Zach Knapp-Hermer at 5:01 in the first period. Napanee found itself down 3-1 after Campbellford's Jon Samis put the puck home at 11:50 in the second period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Nicolas Schuler at 15:52 in the third, the Raiders got the game-winner from Kyle Murphy at 19:56 in the third period. Knapp-Hermer had two goals to lead Napanee to victory. The Raiders' offense rang up 37 shots on the Rebels' net. Napanee also got points from Schuler, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Napanee received assists from Austin Boulard, who had two and Keenan Murray and Jordan Cannons, who each chipped in one. Campbellford put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Napanee to score on any of its five power plays. The Rebels were led by Jeremiah Doherty, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Doherty scored 11:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cole Hamilton assisted on the tally. Ethan McDougall also scored for Campbellford. More assists for Campbellford came via Austin Fry, Colin Doyle, Brad Jacklin, and Josh Hodge, who contributed one each. The Raiders' Cameron Parr stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Napanee incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cole Mahoney made 33 saves for Campbellford on 37 shots. The Rebels incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
