Napanee's comeback falls short, Port Hope wins 6-4

The Port Hope Panthers, who led by four goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Napanee Raiders and clinched a 6-4 victory.

Port Hope led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Panthers' Tyler Davey scored on the power play at 16:35 in the second period to put Port Hope up 5-1.

The Panthers got the win thanks to a great game by Davey, who had one goal and two assists.

Port Hope's penalty kill excelled, as the Panthers gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Port Hope stifled Napanee's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Port Hope additionally got points from Dan Lagrois, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Port Hope included Rory Milne, who had two and Connor Turland and Hunter Baker, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Cameron McGill, who had two and Jacob Spicer, Dylan Baxter, Brandon Baks, and Shawn Mackie, who contributed one each.

The Raiders were helped by Josh Murphy, who registered one goal. Murphy scored short handed 17:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Napanee was on a disadvantage when Zach Knapp-Hermer went off the ice for cross checking. Napanee also had goals scored by Brodie Butt, Troy Wylie, and Austin Boulard, who scored one goal each. More assists for Napanee came via Will Peirson, who had two and Aidan Girduckis, Jag Masters, and Mitch Pearce, who each chipped in one.

Branson Schell rejected 21 shots on goal for the Panthers. Port Hope incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Panthers, Kallen McFarland was ejected from the game. The Raiders took out Tomo Mikuljan after he had made 12 saves and installed Sam McDonald in goal, where he finished with 10 saves and the loss. Napanee incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
