Campbellford outlasts Picton, 3-2

The Campbellford Rebels and the Picton Pirates were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Campbellford made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

The Rebels gained the winning advantage on a goal by William Lameroux 12:31 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Campbellford was paced by Lameroux, who had one goal.

The Rebels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Picton power plays.

Campbellford also had goals scored by Cole Hamilton and Nick Ferguson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Campbellford were Colin Doyle, who had two and Ethan McDougall and Jeremiah Doherty, who contributed one each.

Picton's offense operated below its season average. The Pirates put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game.

Picton was helped by Mitch Burke, who tallied one goal. Burke scored 15:27 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Miles Levtov assisted on the tally. Aidan Girduckis - APM also scored for Picton. In addition, Picton received assists from Shaw Boomhower - APM and Brian Bunnett, who each chipped in one.

Campbellford's Cole Mahoney stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Rebels incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andrew Pearson made 24 saves for the Pirates on 27 shots. Picton incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
