Doherty leads Campbellford over Deseronto, 9-4

The Campbellford Rebels' Jeremiah Doherty had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 9-4 win over the Deseronto Storm.

Doherty's tallies came at 8:33 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Campbellford and on the power play 15:50 into the second to make the score 4-3 Campbellford.

Deseronto was unable to stop Campbellford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rebels eventually piled up 63 shots on goal. Campbellford found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Rebels have scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Campbellford additionally got points from Cole Hamilton, who also grabbed two goals and three assists, Ethan McDougall, who also tallied two goals and two assists, and Andrew Doxtator, who also had one goal and two assists. Jon Samis also scored for Campbellford. More assists for Campbellford came via Colin Doyle, who had two and Karn Dart and Grant Fry, who contributed one each.

The Storm forced Campbellford goalie Reilly Dunn to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Deseronto's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Storm were led by Trey Maracle APM, who registered two goals. Maracle APM scored the first of his two goals at 3:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Johnny Maracle assisted on the tally. Maracle APM's next tally made the score 8-4 Campbellford with 5:35 left in the third period. Jared Boomhower picked up the assist. Deseronto also had goals scored by Chris Rogalsky and Bobby Breadman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Deseronto received assists from Devin MacLean, Mitchell Thompson, and Brodie Maracle, who each chipped in one.

Dunn rejected 37 shots on goal for the Rebels. Campbellford incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matt Loveys made 54 saves for Deseronto on 63 shots. The Storm incurred 50 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Deseronto, Maracle was ejected from the game.
