Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Blenheim Blades defeated the Lakeshore Canadiens in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout.Blenheim came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Blades fell behind 4-2 after a power play goal by Lakeshore's Nick Tavolieri at 7:03 in the third period. Blenheim knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Dylan Muzzatti at 10:46 in the third period. The Blades were led by Tyler Boughner, who finished with one goal. Boughner scored 16:08 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Kirk McKillop provided the assist. Blenheim forced the Canadiens goalie Colin Tetreault to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Blenheim additionally got points from Muzzatti, who also registered one goal and one assist and Matt Clark, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Blenheim also got a goal from Dylan Smith as well. More assists for Blenheim came via Nolan VandenBoorn, Kellen Kaniecki, Dallas Richard, Hunter Burk, and Teddy McGeen, who contributed one each. Lakeshore excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Blades were unable to stop the Canadiens from sending pucks towards the net, and Lakeshore eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. The Canadiens were led by Brenden Crundwell, who had two goals. Crundwell scored the first of his two goals at 12:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Aaron Moore picked up the assist. Crundwell's next tally made the score 2-1 Lakeshore with 6:49 left in the first period. Colin Sartor provided the assist. Michael Long also scored for Lakeshore. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from Sebastian Kanally, Liam MacDougall, Connor Goodchild, and Mejoe Gasparovic, who each chipped in one. Klinton Kenney recorded 41 saves for Blenheim. The Blades incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Colin Tetreault made 32 saves for Lakeshore on 36 shots. The Canadiens incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
