Stadder's goals lift Essex to 4-1 victory over Wallaceburg

The Essex 73s relied on the scoring touch of William Stadder, who netted two goals, to beat the Wallaceburg Lakers, 4-1.

Stadder scored at 16:22 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Essex and again while 12:28 into the second to make the score 4-1 Essex.

Essex's penalty kill excelled, as the 73s gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Essex stifled Wallaceburg's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Essex also got points from Matthew Hebert, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Scott Bromley also scored for Essex. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Tyler Scott, Mark MacPherson, Patrick Cuffaro, and Dallas Pereira, who contributed one each.

The Lakers were led by Tyler Shaw, who scored the team's only goal. Shaw scored 13:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Trevor Waller provided the assist.

Colin Lauzon rejected 16 shots on goal for the 73s. Essex incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and had no power play opportunities. Joel Sowinski recorded 24 saves for Wallaceburg. The Lakers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
