Huge game by Boersma boosts Blenheim over Wallaceburg, 4-0

Bryan Boersma was all over the ice for the Blenheim Blades, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Blenheim's 4-0 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Boersma got on the board by slotting home a goal 3:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blenheim. Boersma dished an assist on Derek Muzzatti's goal that made the score 2-0 Blenheim at 2:39 into the third period. He then added assists on Kellen Kaniecki's goal at 15:32 into the third and on Blair Derynck's goal at 15:42 into the third.

 

The Blades stifled Wallaceburg's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Owen Welch, Brayden Seliga, and Hunter Burk, who each chipped in one.

The Lakers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. Wallaceburg ended up below its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. The Lakers were held below their usual level of production. Wallaceburg averages 2.2 goals per game.

Klinton Kenney recorded 22 saves for Blenheim. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Joel Sowinski made 18 saves for the Lakers on 22 shots. Wallaceburg registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
