The Alvinston Flyers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Wheatley Sharks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Wheatley made the score 3-1 on a goal by Lucas Raffoul at 14:15 in the third period, and Alvinston got as close as 3-2 when Jordan Hayes scored 18:43 into the third period. The Flyers' power play was ineffective against the Sharks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Wheatley also had goals scored by Jesse Margerison and Brian Johnson, who each put in one. In addition, Wheatley received assists from Jimmy Ciacelli, Brett Bowman, Scott Florence, and Conor Marontate, who each chipped in one. Alvinston's offense rang up 36 shots on Wheatley's net. Alvinston also got a goal from Karsten Berg as well. More assists for Alvinston came via Eric Marsh, Josh Moore, and Carter Campbell, who contributed one each. The Sharks' Conner MacKinnon stopped 34 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Wheatley incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brett Avery made 24 saves for the Flyers on 27 shots. Alvinston incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Flyers, Zach VanEyk was ejected from the game.
