The Mooretown Flags relied on the sparkling performance of Brandon Johnson in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Dresden Kings. Mooretown was led by Brett Thompson, who tallied one goal. Thompson scored 5:57 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Mooretown. Frankie White picked up the assist. Mooretown also got points from Ben Morrison, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Dan Lumley, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Mooretown came via Joe DeSena, who had one. Dresden put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Flags to score on any of their eight power plays. The Kings were held below their usual level of production. Dresden puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. The Kings kept Mooretown's goalie busy throughout the game, and Johnson made 34 saves on 35 shots. Dresden was led by Nate Sabourin, who scored the team's only goal. Sabourin scored 10:32 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Mooretown. Ross Krieger provided the assist. The Flags incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Daniel Tonietto made 22 saves for the Kings on 25 shots. Dresden incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
