Lakeshore beats Wheatley 5-0 as Jeffries gains shutout

John Jeffries recorded a shutout against the Wheatley Sharks as the Lakeshore Canadiens picked up a 5-0 win.

Lakeshore was sparked by Hunter Corp, who registered one goal and one assist. Corp scored 40 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakeshore. JJ Percy assisted on the tally.

The Canadiens' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wheatley power plays. Lakeshore featured an improved defense during the game. The Canadiens allow 3.0 goals per game. Lakeshore kept Wheatley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Conner MacKinnon made 31 saves on 36 shots.

Lakeshore additionally got points from Percy, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Zack Bedard and Luke Sanko, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from Liam MacDougall, who had two and Dylan Kolic and Connor Goodchild, who each chipped in one.

The Sharks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Wheatley averages 3.5 goals per game.

Jeffries recorded 28 saves for the Canadiens. Lakeshore incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Sharks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
