Early goals doom Wallaceburg, falls to Amherstburg, 8-3

A four-goal first period deficit cost the Wallaceburg Lakers, which could not recover and fell to the Amherstburg Admirals, 8-3.

Mark Gangnon was all over the ice for Amherstburg, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Gangnon scored the first of his two goals at 11:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstburg. James Brooks provided the assist. Gangnon's next tally made the score 8-2 Amherstburg with 11:06 left in the third period. Mark Sobocan picked up the assist.

The Admirals forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and two majors for 52 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 31.0 minutes per game Amherstburg had been spending in the box. The Admirals' goal total was higher than their season average.
