Huge game by Anger boosts Wheatley over Mooretown, 5-2Mooretown Rink 1 Sat, Nov 01, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Brendon Anger was all over the ice for the Wheatley Sharks, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Wheatley's 5-2 win over the Mooretown Flags. Anger's tallies came at 14:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wheatley and 5:04 into the second to make the score 2-0 Wheatley.The Sharks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 34 penalty minutes. Wheatley's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Mooretown power plays. The Sharks forced Mooretown goalie Brandon Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Wheatley additionally got points from Austin Thompson, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Brett Bowman also scored for Wheatley. Other players who recorded assists for Wheatley were Mike Reid, who had two and Michael Travis, who had three. The Flags kept Wheatley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Conner MacKinnon made 31 saves on 33 shots. Mooretown's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Flags finished with 40 penalty minutes. Mooretown was helped by Brett Thompson, who had one goal. Thompson scored 12:42 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wheatley. Ethan Dupont provided the assist. Mooretown also got a goal from Aiden Chapdalaine as well. In addition, Mooretown received assists from Ryan Lyle and Dan Lumley, who contributed one each. The Sharks registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Johnson recorded 34 saves for the Flags.
