Dresden falls to Lakeshore in overtime, 6-5 (OT)GLJHL Head Office Fri, Oct 31, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lakeshore Canadiens pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Dresden Kings on a clutch goal by Luke Sanko. The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide. Dresden took its last lead at 16:27 in the third on a goal by Ross Krieger to make the score 5-4 the Kings. Lakeshore took over the lead for good with a power play goal by Sanko 4:42 into the fourth to make the score 6-5. Sanko had two goals and three assists to lead the Canadiens. Sanko scored the first of his two goals at 15:02 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Zack Bedard picked up the assist. Sanko's next tally made the score 6-5 Lakeshore with 15:18 left in overtime. Lakeshore had gained a power play chance when Nate Sabourin was whistled for hooking. Dylan Kolic assisted on the tally. Dresden was unable to stop the Canadiens from sending pucks towards the net, and Lakeshore eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Lakeshore also got points from Bedard, who also tallied one goal and four assists and Connor Goodchild, who also registered two goals and one assist. Lakeshore also got a goal from JJ Percy as well. More assists for Lakeshore came via Liam MacDougall, who had one and Cameron MacDougall, who had two. Dresden additionally got points from Derek Daly, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Kevin Ritzer also scored for Dresden. In addition, Dresden received assists from Will Tetzlaff, who had four and Graham Smyth, Dillon Liberty, and Devin Ouimet, who each chipped in one. John Jeffries rejected 21 shots on goal for the Canadiens. Lakeshore incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Scott Tricker recorded 33 saves for the Kings. Dresden incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
