Bedard leads Lakeshore over Wallaceburg, 6-0

Atlas Centre    Sat, Oct 18, 2014

Behind a great game by Zack Bedard, who had two goals and two assists, the Lakeshore Canadiens defeated the Wallaceburg Lakers, 6-0.

Bedard's tallies came at 10:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakeshore and short handed 19:58 into the second to make the score 6-0 Lakeshore.

Wallaceburg's power play was ineffective against Lakeshore's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Canadiens stifled the Lakers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Wallaceburg was unable to stop Lakeshore from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadiens eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Lakeshore also got points from Liam MacDougall, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Connor Goodchild, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Nick Tavolieri also scored for Lakeshore. More assists for Lakeshore came via Bryce OBrien, who had one and Michael Long, who had three.

The Lakers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Wallaceburg averages 2.2 goals per game.

For Lakeshore, Tavolieri was ejected from the game. Joel Sowinski made 34 saves for the Lakers on 40 shots. Wallaceburg incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
