Dresden falls to Blenheim in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Blenheim Blades pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Dresden Kings on a clutch goal by Dylan Muzzatti.

Blenheim came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Blades trailed 2-0 after a goal by Dresden's Steven Funk at 18:01 in the first period. Blenheim knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Muzzatti at 8:39 in the second period.

Muzzatti was all over the ice for the Blades, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win.

Blenheim excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Blades forced the Kings goalie Scott Tricker to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Blenheim additionally got points from Zack Horvath, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Nolan VandenBoorn, Derek Muzzatti, and Teddy McGeen, who each chipped in one.

Blenheim was unable to stop Dresden from sending pucks towards the net, and the Kings eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Dresden was helped by Derek Daly, who grabbed one goal. Daly scored 3:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dresden. Wade Esselment provided the assist. More assists for Dresden came via Will Tetzlaff and John Montgomery, who contributed one each.

Klinton Kenney recorded 33 saves for the Blades. Blenheim incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Kings' Tricker stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Dresden incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
