Alvinston blows out Wallaceburg, 8-2

The Alvinston Flyers' Karsten Berg had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-2 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Berg scored at 13 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alvinston and again while 4:07 into the first to make the score 3-0 Alvinston.

Alvinston's penalty kill excelled, as the Flyers gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

Wallaceburg was unable to stop Alvinston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Alvinston bested its season scoring average. The Flyers average 3.5 goals per game.

Alvinston also got points from Kole Keating, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Alvinston included Jordan Hayes, who had two and Brett Duncan, Kirklin Dorman, and Chad Rainsberry, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Alvinston were Joe Archer, who had one and Zach VanEyk, who had two.

The Lakers' offense rang up 32 shots on Alvinston's net.

Wallaceburg was helped by Jordan Riley, who tallied one goal. Riley scored 11:05 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Alvinston. Jacob Theoret picked up the assist. Wallaceburg also got a goal from Lucais Meyskens as well. More assists for Wallaceburg came via Trevor Waller and Connor Johnston, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers' Cam MacAlpine stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Alvinston incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Scotty Gray rejected 37 shots on goal for the Lakers. Wallaceburg incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
