Blenheim stifles Amherstburg's comeback, gains 3-2 victory

The Amherstburg Admirals almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Blenheim Blades managed to pull out a 3-2 win in the end.

Blenheim led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Blades' Dylan Muzzatti scored at 16:17 in the first period to put Blenheim up 3-0.

The Blades' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Amherstburg power plays. Blenheim could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Blades were helped by Zack Horvath, who registered one goal. Horvath scored 2:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blenheim. Bryan Boersma assisted on the tally. Blenheim also got a goal from Derek Muzzatti as well. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Dylan Smith, who had one.

Amherstburg stifled Blenheim's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Admirals were held below their usual level of production. Amherstburg averages 4.5 goals per game. The Admirals' offense rang up 45 shots on the Blades' net. Amherstburg could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Admirals were helped by Dan Matoski, who tallied one goal. Matoski scored 19:14 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Blenheim. James Brooks picked up the assist. Mark Sobocan also scored for Amherstburg. More assists for Amherstburg came via Steven Spada, who had one.

Klinton Kenney recorded 43 saves for Blenheim. The Blades registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. Arren Romeril made 17 saves for Amherstburg on 20 shots.
