Wheatley downs Dresden, 6-3

Jimmy Ciacelli had two points to lead the Wheatley Sharks to a 6-3 victory over the Dresden Kings.

Wheatley forced Dresden goalie Scott Tricker to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Wheatley additionally got points from Scott Florence, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Wheatley included Dylan Enns, Calyn Kir, Antonio Ciampa, and Nolan Gardiner, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Wheatley were Frankie Ciacelli, who had two and Mike Reid, Layne Gouin, Ryan Zsebok, Lucas Raffoul, and Michael Travis, who each chipped in one.

The Kings struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 30 penalty minutes for 11 opposing power plays.

Dresden was helped by Kevin Ritzer, who registered one goal. Ritzer scored on the power play 18:28 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Dresden. The Kings had gotten the advantage when the Sharks' Shawn Hope was sent off for roughing. Dillon Liberty picked up the assist. Dresden also got points from Liberty, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Dresden also got a goal from Taylor Sisson as well. In addition, Dresden received assists from Ross Krieger, who had two and Jim McKinlay and John Montgomery, who contributed one each.

Conner MacKinnon rejected 24 shots on goal for Wheatley. The Sharks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tricker recorded 30 saves for Dresden. The Kings registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Dresden ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mike Myers was ejected from the game.
