Blenheim rides Kenney to victory over Lakeshore, 3-1

Klinton Kenney stood on his head and made 46 saves to lead the Blenheim Blades to a 3-1 victory over the Lakeshore Canadiens.

Blenheim was sparked by Dylan Smith, who had one goal. Smith scored 32 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-0 Blenheim. Derek Muzzatti picked up the assist.

The Blades stifled Lakeshore's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Blenheim additionally got points from Zack Horvath, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Blenheim also got a goal from Dylan Muzzatti as well. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Bryan Boersma, Bryce Broad, Jarrod Oliphant, and Tyler Boughner, who contributed one each.

The Canadiens did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Lakeshore puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Blenheim was unable to stop the Canadiens from sending pucks towards the net, and Lakeshore eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

The Canadiens were led by JJ Percy, who scored the team's only goal. Percy scored 18:26 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Blenheim. Nick Tavolieri provided the assist.

The Blades incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Lakeshore's John Jeffries stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
