Dresden outlasts Alvinston, 3-2GLJHL Head Office Fri, Sep 12, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Dresden Kings escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Alvinston Flyers. Dresden gained the winning advantage on a goal by Taylor Sisson 11:42 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. The Kings' penalty kill excelled, as Dresden gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays. The Kings were led by Sisson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Dresden stifled Alvinston's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Kings were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 38 penalty minutes. Others who scored for Dresden included Justin Delgado and Macks Holmes, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Dresden were Dillon Liberty, who had one. The Flyers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dresden to score on any of its three power plays. Scott Tricker recorded 27 saves for the Kings. Brett Avery rejected 27 shots on goal for Alvinston. The Flyers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Alvinston, Hunter Bryce was ejected from the game. |
